Vice President – Residential Acquisitions
Jason Bonderenko specializes in the acquisition, asset management and disposition of the firm’s apartment properties. Since joining FCP six years ago, he has been involved with acquiring or investing in approximately 12,000 apartments valued at over $1.6 billion.
Prior to joining FCP, Mr. Bonderenko worked with the Capital Markets group of CB Richard Ellis where he was involved with financing $3 billion of commercial real estate transactions throughout the mid-Atlantic region. Mr. Bonderenko began his career with a mortgage REIT where he focused on the asset management of lender-owned commercial real estate and non-performing commercial real estate loans. Mr. Bonderenko is a member of the National Multi-Housing Council and a graduate of Ithaca College, where he earned a BS in Economics.
Wade L. Casstevens
Vice President - Residential Acquisitions
Wade Casstevens, with over eight years of experience in real estate investment and banking, focuses on the firm's investments in residential development opportunities.
Prior to joining FCP, Mr. Casstevens was a Development Director for Post Properties where he entitled, planned and developed $250 million of mixed-use projects in the Washington, DC metro area. Prior to Post Properties, he worked at Bear Stearns Commercial Mortgage where he financed over $500 million of commercial properties. Mr. Casstevens received his MBA in Finance and Real Estate from Columbia Business School and BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Alex Cathcart is responsible for underwriting FCP's residential acquisitions as well as infill development opportunities. Prior to joining FCP in 2012, Mr. Cathcart worked as an Analyst at Wells Fargo Bank where he underwrote commercial real estate loan originations and restructures and managed a portfolio of balance sheet commitments. Mr. Cathcart graduated with a BS in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina's Kenan-Flagler Business School.
Edward (E.J.) Corwin
Senior Vice President
E.J. Corwin is responsible for expanding the company's portfolio of debt-related investments in the Mid-Atlantic markets.
Prior to joining FCP, Mr. Corwin was a Senior Vice President in the Special Situations/REMAG Group of Wells Fargo Bank. During his tenure at Wells Fargo, Mr. Corwin managed a $1.2 billion portfolio of nonperforming loans nationwide including office, multi-family, retail, hotel, commercial land, residential land, and condominiums. Additionally, while in the Real Estate Merchant Banking Group at Wells Fargo, he originated over $800 million of structured loans, primarily in the Mid-Atlantic region. Earlier in his career, Mr. Corwin served in several project management roles at real estate companies Jones Lang LaSalle (Spaulding & Slye Colliers) and Whiting-Turner. Mr. Corwin earned both his MBA (Ross Business School) and Master of Engineering from the University of Michigan, and his BS in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University.
Vice President – Commercial Acquisitions
Howard Jenkins, with close to 13 years of private equity and investment banking experience, focuses on the acquisition of commercial assets for FCP.
Before working with FCP, Mr. Jenkins was an Associate with Nautic Partners, a private equity firm with over $2 billion under management. He began his career with Prudential Securities and also completed an internship at Federal Acquisitions Partners, a private real estate investment vehicle co-sponsored by California State Teachers' Retirement System and Spaulding & Slye Colliers. Mr. Jenkins received his MBA from the University of Virginia's Darden Graduate School of Business Administration and BBA in Finance from James Madison University.
Bryan M. Kane
Vice President - Acquisitions
Bryan Kane, with over seven years of experience in real estate investment and capital markets, oversees investments of all property types throughout the Carolinas.
Prior to joining FCP, Mr. Kane was a Vice President with CB Richard Ellis, where he opened their Capital Markets office in Raleigh. Mr. Kane has arranged a variety of capital structures for projects throughout the Southeast with a total capitalization in excess of $2 billion. Prior to joining CB Richard Ellis, he was an Assistant Vice President with Medalist Capital. Mr. Kane serves on the Board of Directors for the Research Triangle Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties. Mr. Kane received his BBA from the University of Mississippi School of Business Administration.
Vice President – Commercial Acquisitions
Drew Odabashian, with ten years of experience in real estate investment, is responsible for new alternative investments at FCP, including manufactured housing and self-storage.
Prior to joining FCP, Mr. Odabashian worked as an Associate in the Acquisitions & Investment Management Group of Monday Properties' New York office, where he focused on new investments and acquisitions totaling $2.4 billion, asset management, and market research. Prior to Monday Properties, Mr. Odabashian worked at LaSalle Investment Management in Baltimore, Germany and New York, transacting on over $1.2 billion of commercial real estate. Mr. Odabashian graduated cum laude with a BBA in Finance from Loyola University Maryland.
Jacob Rosenberg is a member of FCP’s investment team. He is responsible for underwriting both income producing and development properties. Before joining FCP, Mr. Rosenberg was an Analyst with the private equity firm Spear Street Capital in New York. At Spear Street, he was a member of the Asset Management and Acquisition teams for their national portfolio of office properties. Mr. Rosenberg graduated with a BS with concentrations in Finance and Real Estate from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.
CEO - American Community Properties Trust
Alan Shearer is currently CEO of ACPT, an FCP-controlled investment, where he is responsible for restructuring the company, the disposition of non-core assets and development of the flagship St. Charles Planned Community.
Prior to ACPT, Mr. Shearer served as Managing Director – Land at FCP, where he was primarily responsible for “for sale” residential investments. Before FCP, Mr. Shearer served as Senior Vice President, Land for NVR, Inc. (NYSE:NVR), where he managed a team responsible for the land acquisition for the homebuilder’s operations in Virginia, the Carolinas and Nashville.
Senior Associate - Residential and Commercial Acquisitions
Will Simpson, with six years experience, focuses on acquisition and development opportunities in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Prior to joining the company in 2010, Mr. Simpson worked as a Senior Analyst at Cassidy Turley's Washington, DC office where he focused on economic analysis, market research and investment sales. Mr. Simpson earned a BA in Economics from Middlebury College.
Senior Analyst - Residential and Commercial Acquisitions
Stephen Stover is responsible for underwriting FCP's residential and commercial acquisitions as well as infill development opportunities. Prior to joining FCP, Mr. Stover was with Capital Automotive Real Estate Services where he worked to manage and acquire income producing commercial real estate assets while also pursuing the redevelopment of select properties primarily located in the DC MSA. Mr. Stover graduated suma cum laude from James Madison University with a double major in Finance and Economics.
Jason L. Ward
Jason Ward, with nine years of commercial real estate experience, focuses on debt and land development investment opportunities for FCP. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Ward managed a nationwide portfolio of commercial real estate debt with CapitalSource, a specialty finance company. Prior to CapitalSource, Mr. Ward worked in originations at SunTrust Bank's Commercial Real Estate DC region. Mr. Ward earned an MBA from Georgetown's McDonough School of Business, and a BS in Business Administration with emphasis in Finance from Washington and Lee University.
Erik S. Weinberg
Senior Associate - Commercial Acquisitions
Erik Weinberg focuses on the acquisition of new office, retail, and industrial investments. Prior to joining FCP, Mr. Weinberg was a Senior Associate with CW Capital, where he was responsible for negotiating, modeling and closing workouts and/or dispositions of distressed commercial mortgage loans and properties aggregating in excess of $3 billion. Prior to joining CW Capital, Mr. Weinberg was an Associate within the Capital Markets Group at Cassidy Turley in Washington, DC. Mr. Weinberg began his career as a Senior Financial Analyst at BearingPoint, Inc. in its Financial Services Group. Mr. Weinberg graduated an academic All-American from the University of Maryland with a double major in Finance and Accounting.
